Bittersweet Symphony Juice

One, two, three – Let’s juice it up! I really love juicing and that’s for many reasons. First of all, it’s an easy way to keep up daily vitamin and fiber levels. Second, we all know that it tastes unbelievably amazing. I don’t think further explanation is required. Who doesn’t like drinking juices? You are able to attain so many different flavors and that fact speaks right to my taste buds. I’m totally obsessed with the bitter taste of grapefruit and the sweet component of beetroot goes along very well. These two ingredients were a great fundament for me developing the recipe.


Moving into our brand new apartment has been such an exhausting experience. So amazing, though I still find myself so tired every night. Moving and organizing all our things, has taken all focus the last month. As a matter of fact, we’ve both been eating a lot of junk food during the process. Simply because we’ve been to exhausted to cook proper nutrient rich meals every day. But this ‘Bittersweet Symphony Juice’ brings back the lack of healthy nutrients and vitamins.

Bittersweet Symphony Juice




Yield 5 glasses


  • 3 medium beets
  • 5 medium carrots
  • 2 grapefruits
  • 4-inch ginger (more or less - depends on your taste)


  1. Rinse all vegetables carefully.
  2. Peel grapefruits, beets, ginger and if not choosing organic carrots (you might also want to peel them).
  3. Juice everything through your juicer and transfer to glasses.
  4. Serve cold with ice cubes.
